講者簡介

Prof. Dennett是一位具有不同研究興趣的地理學家。 他正在進行的研究包括仕紳化和鄰里變化、住宅移動性、住房、城市健康和零售業模型。 希望能透過與城市政府的合作努力，結合開放科學及應用城市科學等方法，對世界產生實質影響。

高級空間分析中心簡介

高級空間分析中心(CASA)是一個針對城市科學的研究及教學中心，也是一個跨學科中心，在國際上擁有非常良好的聲譽，其工作人員來自規劃、地理、交通研究、數學、物理、計算機科學、統計、建築、人文和社會科學等不同背景，而此中心的研究是將理論與新的數據、感測器、計算模型、分析和尖端的可視化相結合，產生新的知識和見解，也希望能應用於城市規劃、政策和設計。

Speaker Introduction - Professor Adam Dennett

• Professor of Urban Analytics in UCL
• Head of Department at the Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA)

Introduction of Professor Dennett

Professor Dennett is a geographer with diverse research interests which have included in recent years, population and migration, the geographies beer and brewing in urban areas and improving our data landscapes though crowd sourcing or synthetic data approaches. He has ongoing research interests in areas such as gentrification and neighbourhood change, residential mobilities, housing, urban health and retail modelling. Has a passion for open science, reproducible methods and for applied urban science to have real world impact through collaborative endeavours with urban governments.  

Introduction of the Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA)

CASA was founded in 1995 by Professor Mike Batty, and has gained a global reputation as a leading centre researching and teaching the science of cities. A truly interdisciplinary centre with staff coming from backgrounds as diverse as Planning, Geography, Transport Studies, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, Architecture, the Humanities and the Social Sciences, CASA’s research combines theory with novel data, sensors, computational models, analysis and cutting-edge visualisation to generate new knowledge and insights, addressing problems with a spatial dimension and an urban and regional focus. CASA’s work is inherently applied and looks to influence urban planning, policy and design in both the public and private spheres.”
